South Korea in 2013, photovoltaic power generation targets for 230MW

Posted on March 21 2013 by deco

In early 2012, the South Korean government to implement the RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standard) policy. Due to the decline in equipment costs, the company has been actively to the policy. South Korean industry sources: 220MW installed PV targets can be achieved 70%.

South Korea has developed a new 2013 / renewable energy development goals. New / the proportion of renewable energy power generation in 2013 to achieve 2.5% goals, solar power installed capacity will reach 230MW. By 2016, the installed capacity target will reach 260MW.

In 2011, South Korea about one hundred thousand households have a rooftop PV system. If the roof system commercialization rate continues to increase, plus new renewable energy, biomass energy, such as wind / fuel cell, geothermal, hydroelectric power and the development of hydrogen energy, South Korea can be realized with millions of households green home goal in 2020.

Coal accounts for the proportion of power grid in eastern Australia, below 75% for the first time, carbon emissions would be cut.

According to the "Sydney Morning Herald" said, monthly report on Pitt&Sherry consulting company released, in February, to black coal and lignite provides 74.8% of the electricity from coal-fired power plants fuel for the Australian national power grid, including the hydro, wind and solar and other renewable energy power generation share rose to a record 12.5%. In addition, the natural gas power generation accounted for 12.7%.

The report points out, the proportion of coal power generation is changed from the overall demand of power market decline, relates to the majority of the population of New South Wales, Lanzhou, Queensland, South Australia, Vitoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory. Weak demand, coupled with the use of clean energy, means that the greenhouse gas emissions from the power solar controller sector is declining, the chief adviser to Pitt&Sherry Hugh Sadler of the consulting company (HughSaddler) said.

Since last July launched a carbon tax, carbon emissions from power companies in Australia's national market has been reduced by 3.5%, annual reduction of 5500000 tons, Sadler said.

The Australian union party claimed that, if we can win the general election due by September, is to cancel the carbon tax.

At the end of 2008 the market share of its heyday, coal-fired power plants to provide electricity to account for 84.1% of total electricity, Sadler said. But only in February, dropped to about 0.5 percentage points.

For some of the major state of New South Wales in January, coal and electricity changed little, but the Lanzhou Cogan Bay, Stanwell and Taran power plant yield was reduced. Vitoria lignite power plant production "is lower than in 2012 February, which means that the annual power generation and emissions resulting in seven consecutive months fell", the report said.

Although Australia has hitherto unknown summer, but not as many people expected to usher in a sharp peak.

"Over the past 4 years, Vitoria every summer peaks in electricity peak load is in decline, in the past 3 years in Lanzhou, the past two years in NSW and South Australia are so." The report said, "obviously, this is very important for the future upgrading power expenditure, because everyone knows now, upgrade cost has been a major force in the past four or five years, electricity prices."

Probably about the overall decline in electricity demand by 1/4 rapid amplification with the solar photovoltaic is concerned, because with the solar grid tie inverter panels on the roof of the family and the enterprise can reduce the purchase of electricity from the grid, said Sadler.

While most of the remaining decline in demand -- since the end of 2010 fell by about 6% -- from smelting and other energy-intensive industries and enhance the efficiency of energy transformation.

According to the Australian federal government figures, in the past 3 years, electricity prices rose 40%. Electricity more expensive, means "people for using the energy of consciousness is stronger," Sadler said.
